French writer, Simone de Beauvoir, once said, “there is something in the New York air that makes sleep feel useless,” and thus, The City That Never Sleeps was born.

This year, Presidents Cup is hosted by Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey, just across the water from Manhattan. Presidents Cup Experiences also offers accommodations at the DoubleTree hotel in NYC’s Financial District. New York City is buzzing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with endless things to do and sights to see, that even those who live in New York don’t feel as though they’ve seen everything. From the breathtaking views, historic museums, delicious delicacies, fascinating people and so much more, you can be sure every day of your visit will be filled with excitement

Statue of Liberty + Ellis Island Ferry Tour

The first thing the course designers Tom Kite and Bob Cupp noticed upon visiting the site of the now prestigious Liberty National Golf Course, was the magnificent sight of the Manhattan Skyline, but most importantly, Lady Liberty which was then reflected in the naming of the course. When attending Presidents Cup this year, going on a Statue of Liberty Ferry Tour is a must!

These four-hour tours bring you to the island for the opportunity to wander the grounds and see Lady Liberty up close. You can go inside the pedestal of the statue and up to the observation deck for an unbelievable view of the city. After greeting Lady Liberty, the ferry will then take guests to Ellis Island to learn about the history of immigration that took place between 1892 and 1954. You will have the opportunity to wander the great hall and view exhibits that further explain the 12 million people who passed through this very island.

Carriage Ride Through Central Park

You cannot go to New York City and not visit the glorious Central Park, where you can be taken around by a horse drawn carriage. The carriage seats up to four people and a Central Park connoisseur, who will point out historical sites around the park as well as where certain movies were filmed.

Pack a picnic or eat at one of the many restaurants surrounding the park. Visiting the Central Park Zoo is something you must do and witness Snow Leopards leap 20-30 feet in the air, watch Sea Lions swim, Pengiuns waddle  and transport yourself to the Rainforest to fly among the birds.

Take a Walk Down 5th Avenue

5th Avenue is one of the most famous streets in New York City, with countless stores, museums, galleries and restaurants, it’s hard to know where to begin. If your wallet doesn’t stretch to these high-end shops, you’ll feel fulfilled just by looking in the extravagant window displays that are carefully designed throughout the year. If you are pressed for time, walking down this 6-mile street will give you a true look at New York City in one fell swoop.

Metropolitan Museum of Art

One of the museums located on 5th Avenue is the exquisite Metropolitan Museum of Art. This sensational music displays over 5000 years of art through all cultures and time periods and covers over 2 million square feet. This is the place where art comes alive and reveals new ideas and unexpected connections between cultures. Walk up those famous steps and immerse yourself in history at the MET.
